Chapter 3
“Who? WHAT!? … Where? WHY?!” Macy replies.
“I’ll tell you later but right now we have to go to the park,” Alice says, her face looking at Macy but her eyes gaze off in the distance. She shakes her head and sighs.
“The park? Why-”
“You’ll see,” Alice says, cutting Macy off.
Macy texts her mum that she is heading to the park across from the Valley Mall.
“Alright then… lets go,”
They take their time walking there as Macy tells Alice the inside scoop of the high school gossip.
“Haha that was so funny Macy - oh… we’re here,” Alice says.
She takes a little bit of time to embrace the park which is surrounded by memories.
“This is where I died, you know,” Alice sighs.
“Really? I thought you died on the city roads!” Macy exclaims, shocked.
“No, they just set it up to be like that so no one would suspect it was one of them,” Alice grumbles.
“Um, who are they?” Macy asks, confused.
“Look!” Alice exclaims.
“What? I can’t see anything!” Macy says.
“Haha! Made you look!” Alice giggles.
Macy grumbles,
“Alice! Take this seriously, we’re trying to investigate a crime!”
“Are we?” Alice says, raising an eyebrow.
Macy gazes into the distance and says, “You know, my life has been TERRIBLE without you, and all you’re doing is joking when we, well at least ME, are trying to help bring justice to the person who killed YOU! Which! You haven’t told me WHO actually did it!”
Alice sighs and says softly,
“Macy I -”
“Save it,” Macy frowns and walks away.
“Oh no, what have I done,” Alice gasps.
